Learn While You Earn! Become an Ice Hockey Official…

High School League Players…

USA Hockey is holding its annual Referee Clinic at Coal street Ice Rink this Saturday August 18th.  This seminar is designed for new officials and returning Level I officials.  This would be a great opportunity for you to learn how to officiate the game you love to play.   This is a great part-time job for those of you who would like to make money while you learn to officiate.  There has never been a better time to become an official.  All across the country the demand for officiating is high.  Their are many opportunity’s to grow and develop into the higher levels of hockey.  Last year I was able to officiate the Kings Men’s and Women’s games.  We have many officials from our area that started right here that have since moved on to officiate College and Professional Hockey.

Even if you are out of the area or about to leave the area for college you can work anywhere in the country.  Your USA hockey requirement at this seminar is good nationwide, giving you a great paying part-time job even when you are away.

This upcoming season will be my 6th season as an official.  I will be one of the seminar instructors at the clinic and look forward to helping you become an official.  This is the best part-time job I have ever had.  I have had the opportunity to work with a great group of officials.  You will find the officials you will work with to be very helpful and you will see the game in a completely different way.

It’s simple to get started.  Go on the USA hockey website and register as an official.  Wait 24 hours and go back to the USA Hockey website and register for our clinic.  If you cannot make our clinic and still want to register you can attend any of the USA Hockey level 1 and 2 clinics in the nation.

Recent Thefts!

Attention!

Recently, several phones and other belongings were stolen from player and referee locker rooms during a high school game. Please do not leave any valuables in the locker rooms! Coaches can also check out keys at both rinks so they can lock the door during games (remember to lock the inside door to the shared bathroom/showers as well).

If anyone has any information regarding this, please contact the rink directly.
